Our History

It all started with a simple plan, to build a company that would be viewed by our clients as the very best in the industry, while at the same time, giving back to our communities. That meant assembling a team of exceptional people with similar core beliefs and equally high standards, ready and willing to do their best work—every day.

Our goal was never to be the biggest, just the best. We knew that on the surface there wouldn’t appear to be anything new or revolutionary about our company, we certainly weren’t inventing anything that hadn’t been around before. But to stand out, we knew that we had to take every incremental step of our business, and do it better than anyone else, and at a higher level of quality than anything ever seen before. If we could do that every day, without compromise, that would make us different and distinguish us from the rest.

We also knew that it would take time, after all, they say overnight success takes about fifteen years. But the mission, and the message, remained clear. Avoid all the inevitable distractions and temptations and stay true to our goal of never compromising our quality or service. That was Plan A, and Plan B was to stick to Plan A.

We lost several people along the way. Folks who told us that they loved the idea of what The Premier Group was determined to be, but then didn’t like the work or the personal accountability that came with those uncompromising standards. Average people don’t like working alongside exceptional people and being “Premier” wasn’t for everyone.

Despite the challenges of the housing crisis, softening economies, and COVID, it turns out that our customers liked “better” a lot. Their loyalty allowed The Premier Group to grow from one small office in Denver, Colorado to become one of the fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. in all industries. Outranking companies like Facebook and Zappos, winning five, and then a sixth, INC500 award along the way.

Today, 16 years later, with 950 employees, and operating in 47 states, we feel blessed to partner with some of our biggest clients working on some of the highest-profile projects being built throughout the U.S.

We are humbled by our growth but believe that we haven’t, even for a moment, forgotten where we came from, or the lessons that we’ve learned along the way. Be honest and treat people right. Be committed to what you do and stand by your work. Follow through on your promises and live by your word. These values have shaped our history and always will.

We are members of the following associations: Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC), Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC), Arizona Builders Alliance (ABA), Utah Plumbing & Heating Contractors Association (UPHCA), TEXO The Construction Association, and National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI).

We also collaborate with Colorado Homebuilders Academy, IEC, and Metropolitan State University of Denver on their apprenticeship/certification programs.

Our Philosophy

We founded The Premier Group with one goal: to give back to our community. Having spent decades working for large corporations that hungrily chased revenue at all costs, we realized there was more to business than net income, stock prices, and shareholder meetings. We decided to build a company that offered people an opportunity to do great things right out of the gate. Today, we are proud to look back and say that from the first dollar sold, a portion of every invoice we have ever generated has gone towards helping those in greater need.

Our Commitment to Safety

We recognize that nothing is more important to our employees than their safety on the job site. We support them in their safety efforts by providing training and PPE monthly, as well as several other safety practices that are ingrained in our culture.
